1969. It was a time of extremes, of unknown limits. It was a time of upheaval, of rapid and relentless change, of the explosion of myths, of the fear of annihilation. People had a sense that things had gotten out of control, that the divisions in American society between parents and their children, between the Establishment and the flowering Counter-culture, had grown too deep. It was a time when the Children of America went in search of ultimate experience…and occasionally found it.
